Green Lunch Series: Winter Watershed Care Presentation at Whole Foods Rochester Hills
FREE tote bag with registration!
Salt or sand?... How are you getting rid of ice and snow this winter, and how is it affecting the quality of nearby lakes, rivers and streams?
Join the Sierra Club and Clean Water Action for the Green Lunch Series meeting. Stop in a few minutes early to hit up the salad bar, grab a slice of pizza or a ready-made sandwich for your lunch, and join Michele Arquette-Palermo, Watershed Education and Stewardship Director for the Clinton River Watershed Council, who will educate us on how to protect water quality during times of cold weather. Michele will talk with us about how our actions affect the quality of our lakes, rivers and streams and what we can do to be good watershed stewards.
Register online and receive a free, exclusive Rochester Hills reusable tote bag.
Together, we will keep the Great Lakes GREAT! To register, stop by the customer service desk or call 248-371-1400. For more information, go to www.sierraclub.
Hawk Woods Nature Center will be hosting a Project Learning Tree Workshop for naturalists, home school parents, pre-service teachers and of course K-8 teachers.
Project Learning Tree is a national model of environmental education. ( see: www.plt.org)
Our workshop will be on Saturday, November 22 from 9-3. Participants will receive the guide and certification from the national PLT office.
