Anne Vaara - Executive Director,

Anne Vaara is
executive director for the CRWC. The executive
director is responsible for overseeing the daily
operations, watershed management activities and
general management of the organization. Anne has
devoted her career to environmental science. She has an extensive background in
environmental land use planning, wetland and
woodland assessment and preservation,
watershed management, and environmental ordinance
development. She
received her bachelor's degree in Horticulture and a
master’s degree in Environmental Science and Wetland
Ecology from Michigan State University and is near
completion of a master’s degree in Urban and
Regional Planning from Eastern Michigan University.
Her leisure time includes
landscape gardening and kayaking, and she has recently
taken up sailing as a new adventure. |

Jenn Graessle -
Adopt-A-Stream Coordinator,
jenn@crwc.org

Jennie is the new Adopt-A-Stream Coordinator. This
is a new position at CRWC but it’s not new to Jenn.
She has volunteered hundreds of hours over the last
4 years with the program and has devoted a lot of
energy and enthusiasm in training new volunteers in
bug I.D., streamside sampling and data collection.
Jenn has a BBA from Western Michigan University and
worked in account management for several automotive
supplier corporations for 12 years. Jennie and her
husband, Bill, have 2 children and live in N.E.
Rochester. Jenn’s passion has always been nature
and water related activities. She is an avid catch
and release fly fisherman. |

Ruth Glass- Administrative Assistant,
ruth@crwc.org

Ruth joined CRWC in August 2006. In addition
to managing the office, she leads our River
Walks. Her professional history includes 23
years with General Motors and Electronic
Data Systems in a variety of management and
consulting positions. She is also a licensed
massage therapist. While fostering her
professional career, she also pursued her
true passion – nature. She managed her 11
acres of property and lake as an unofficial
wildlife refuge, and is a self described
amateur ornithologist. She has volunteered
hundreds of hours to a variety of local
nature based organizations such as the
Audubon Society, Huron Clinton Metroparks,
and River Bends Park. Ruth has lived almost
her entire life on water of some form, and
enjoys all types of boating and water
sports.

Jill Hollowell- Education Director, jill@crwc.org

Jill Hollowell joined CRWC in February 2006 as our Education Director. The Education Director is responsible for CRWC's
K-12 and family education and outreach programs, including our Stream Leaders student river monitoring program, River Day, and Clinton Clean-Up.
Jill graduated from Oakland University and holds a
bachelor's degree in education. She is active
with Detroit Bioneers and is a board member of
Upland Hills Ecological Awareness Center, a Michigan
renewable energy demonstration site. Jill loves
horses and thrives on being outdoors. She
enjoys gardening and hiking through the woodlands of
northern Oakland County. |

Dan Keifer - Development Director, dan@crwc.org

Dan is responsible for CRWC's membership development and fundraising activities and is involved in promoting our watershed management, education and outreach programs. He also is responsible for communications with our state and federal legislators. Dan brings over twenty years of experience in the fields of marketing and business communications to CRWC. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Tufts University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining CRWC in July 2002, Dan founded Friends of Clinton River Trail, a citizens group that has helped to develop a new cross-county rail-trail serving as a critical component of the Southeast Michigan Greenways Network. Dan is also active with the Oakland Land Conservancy and Challenge Chapter of Trout Unlimited.

Heidi Recor - Financial Manager,
heidi@crwc.org

Heidi is responsible for the finance operation of
CRWC, which includes bookkeeping, payroll, managing
grant money, and taxes. Heidi has a degree in
Finance from Michigan State University. Upon
graduation, she worked 10 years in various banks as
a Financial Analyst. After staying home for 13
years to raise 3 sons, she decided to return to work
for a great cause February 2006. |
