Nate Childers, a science teacher and Stream Leaders teacher at Rochester’s Hart Middle School was recognized this week in Washington DC. Nate has taught science at Hart Middle School for the past 16 years. Nate found his calling as a teacher after spending 6 years working for General Motors. His philosophy of education is to create opportunities for students to experience science so that it becomes real in their lives, which will inspire them to crave more. For the last 14 years students at Hart Middle have performed water quality tests on the Stony Creek. Nate’s dedication to teaching science and stewardship of the Clinton River and its watershed is well worth recognizing. The Clinton River Watershed Council would like to congratulate Nate Childers on receiving this award.
