Phone Contact: (248) 651-9429 INDEPENDENCE OAKS COUNTY PARK 9501 Sashabaw Road, 2 1/2 miles north of I-75 (exit 89), Clarkston. This 1088-acre park contains headwaters of the Clinton River and 68-acre Crooked Lake. Recreational opportunities include picnicking, hiking, fishing, swimming, youth group camping, nature study and 10 miles of nature and ski trials, including 2 paved trails for biking, skating or hiking. Located on Metropolitan Parkway and Jefferson, this large park on Lake St. Clair offers a variety of activities, including a large sand swimming beach and marina and boat launching sites providing access to Lake St. Clair.
