River restoration is becoming increasingly common in the Clinton River watershed, partly due to increased available funding (e.g. Great Lakes Restoration Initiative). Projects aimed to restore and improve degraded rivers contribute to the overall health of the watershed and advance our progress for delisting as an Area of Concern (AOC). However; as restoration projects are completed, systematic evaluations measuring the ecological benefits gained are necessary. Project monitoring is a critical component to any restoration project and CRWC is currently assisting communities and consulting firms with several projects.
Current Projects monitored by CRWC:
- Paint Creek Dam Removal – Oakland Township
- Avon Creek Restoration – City of Rochester Hills
- Paint Creek Restoration – City of Rochester
- Lane Drain – City of Troy
