Why Volunteer?

“I’m so lucky I found and involved myself with CRWC. By volunteering and attending programs with CRWC, it made it easy and fun to understand how we are ALL connected to water. Its importance to the environment, industry and recreation is so vital to our well being. Let us not succumb to the old
saying,”You usually don’t know what you have until it’s gone.”
Joerg Hensel, Hensel Associates
“I feel very fortunate to live in an area with beautiful clean streams, rivers and lakes. The Trout Unlimited chapters and myself have really enjoyed working alongside the efficient caring Clinton River Watershed Council team to help preserve and maintain this water in its natural healthy state.
Dave Watson, Vangaurd Chapter, Trout Unlimited
Volunteer data is used to support MDEQ biologists in their water quality assessment process by filling in gaps where MDEQ data doesn’t exist or lending support in understanding how representative MDEQ monitoring data are over a broader stream or river reach. Volunteer data also can help provide additional information where MDEQ assessments are being made, and aid in identifying reaches in need of additional information.
